ZeDaq.ai vs General CRMs Like HubSpot and Zoho for Tailors

29 October 2026 · 6 min read

For most tailors, a tailoring-specific tool like ZeDaq.ai fits better than HubSpot or Zoho CRM, because measurements, deposits and fitting dates are built in rather than bolted on. General CRMs suit tailors who mainly need a sales pipeline and are happy to customise it.

ZeDaq.ai publishes this blog, so we've kept to facts from each product's own site.

What is a general CRM actually built for?

HubSpot and Zoho CRM are general-purpose CRMs. They are built around contacts, deals and sales pipelines, and both have free tiers. That is a real strength if you chase leads, send marketing emails or run a team of sales staff.

A tailoring business works differently. A client does not move neatly from "lead" to "closed deal". They get measured, pay a deposit, come back for a fitting and collect on a due date. General CRMs are not designed around garment measurements, fittings, deposits or tailoring orders. You would need to customise them to fit.

What do tailors need that a sales CRM does not give them?

Think about one wedding order. You need to know:

  • The client's contact details and delivery address
  • Their measurements and fit preferences
  • How much deposit they paid and what is left
  • The delivery date, and a reminder before it arrives
  • An invoice with your logo and bank details

A sales CRM can store some of this if you create custom fields and workflows. That takes setup time, and you maintain it yourself. A tool built for tailors starts with these pieces already in place.

How does ZeDaq.ai handle the tailor workflow?

Every ZeDaq.ai subscription includes tools for tailors and made-to-measure businesses. They work in the web dashboard and the mobile app.

  • Client CRM: contact details, delivery address and fit preferences.
  • Orders: track deposits, with a delivery calendar and automatic reminders.
  • Invoicing: add your logo and bank details, then send by email or WhatsApp.
  • Measurement capture: auto-capture, voice-guided posing or manual entry. Clients install no app.

For photo capture, you take a front and a side photo. The system finds 33 skeletal points and is calibrated with a sheet of A4 paper. You can also send a measurement link that the client opens on their own phone.

If you have years of notebooks, you can photograph a page. ZeDaq.ai reads the client's details and measurements into a digital profile. Prices can be shown in several currencies, including USD, NGN, GBP and EUR.

Your clients can still be messaged on WhatsApp. The aim is to stop details being scattered across chats, spreadsheets and notebooks.

Where do general CRMs do better?

Be honest about your business. HubSpot and Zoho may suit you better if:

  • You sell to companies, such as uniforms or corporate wear, and manage long sales conversations.
  • You already use one of them for other parts of your business.
  • You have someone who can set up and maintain custom fields and automations.

ZeDaq.ai is a technology platform for tailors and fashion retailers. It does not make, sell or ship clothes. If your main need is sales pipeline management, a general CRM is a sensible choice.

What about spreadsheets, WhatsApp Business and other tools?

A CRM is not your only option, and each alternative has a place.

  • Excel and Google Sheets: flexible and good for simple lists and totals. Nothing is built for measurements, deposits, delivery reminders or client-facing measurement links unless you build and maintain it.
  • WhatsApp Business: Meta's free app with a business profile, catalogue, chat labels, quick replies and away messages. It is a messaging tool, not a record of measurements, orders and payments.
  • Notion and Airtable: very flexible workspaces. You design and maintain your own tables, forms and reminders.
  • Dedicated tailor apps: apps such as Darzee and Tailo360 typically cover customer measurements, orders and payment tracking. Compare their store listings to see what fits.

What if I also sell clothes online?

Online fashion retailers have a second question: how do shoppers know what fits? ZeDaq.ai also offers an API and embeddable widget for AI Virtual Try-On and body sizing on product pages. It is on the Shopify App Store.

The shopper uploads one photo and enters their height on your product page. No ZeDaq.ai account or sign-in is needed. Their measurements are matched to your size chart to recommend a size. Virtual Try-On then renders your actual product on their body in the product carousel. The storefront widget speaks 10 languages.

On other platforms, you paste one script tag into the product page template. WooCommerce, Magento and custom stores can also use the REST API.

GenLook is another Shopify App Store app worth a look. It offers photo-based AI virtual try-on and an AI assistant for size, fit and style questions. Its sizing is labelled beta. Its listing is a Shopify app and does not say whether it works elsewhere. Check each product's own site for current details.

How should you choose?

Run this quick checklist:

  1. Do you take client measurements? If yes, favour a tool with measurement storage built in.
  2. Do you take deposits and give delivery dates? Look for order and reminder features.
  3. Do you have the time to customise and maintain a general CRM?
  4. Do you also sell online and want shoppers to see fit before buying?

Then test with real clients. ZeDaq.ai has a free plan and a 3-day free trial with no card required. See the tailor tools, compare plans on the pricing page, or sign up when you are ready.

FAQs

Can I use HubSpot or Zoho CRM as a tailor?

Yes, if you are willing to customise them. They are built around sales pipelines, contacts and deals. They are not designed around garment measurements, fittings, deposits or tailoring orders.

Is a general CRM cheaper than a tailor-specific tool?

Both HubSpot and Zoho have free tiers, and ZeDaq.ai has a free plan. Costs change, so check each product's own site. For ZeDaq.ai, see the pricing page.

Do my clients need to install an app to give measurements?

Not with ZeDaq.ai. You can capture measurements yourself, enter them by hand, or send a link that the client opens on their own phone.

Can I move my paper measurement book into ZeDaq.ai?

Yes. Photograph a page and ZeDaq.ai reads the client's details and measurements into a digital profile.

Can I still talk to clients on WhatsApp?

Yes. ZeDaq.ai keeps your records in one place, and you can still message clients on WhatsApp. Invoices can also be sent by email or WhatsApp.
